- Mongolia is a small country, so it cannot influence any great power's decision making. Therefore, great powers coming to Mongolia to settle their issue can be sure about Mongolia's neutrality.
- Mongolia has good relations with all Northeast Asian countries, including North Korea. No country unlikely refuse to come Ulaanbaatar if a country invites it to discuss a sensetive issues.
How you my friends thinks about that? Cordially welcome your comments.
Dear revered friend,
ReplyDeleteI believe this is extraordinary great idea that have raised earlier. Just to help you to strengthen your argument, i would like to clarify one or two points.
First, you are arguing that as a small country Mongolia cannot influence any major power's decision making; which you claim as a sign of neutrality. I would like to see this on the contrary, what if we are to be questioned that Mongolia is not sufficiently powerful to hold neutrality position? As you wrote, we don't have influence over other power's decision making, but are you sure that we are completely void of any influence of major powers such as Russia and China, both of which may concur their interests on some issues. In this term, we are still dependent on our equipments and fuels from Russia and on our consumer products from China etc.
Second, on the issue of security or confidentiality, are secure enough to provide good venues, security, and secrecy.
Third, i am not sure how are we perceived by our cordial neighbors including North Korea who may be suspecting us we may collaborate with USA more than others?
These are my first impression that may be not well-thought of.
Yours,
Dashka
Dear editor,
ReplyDeleteUlaanbaatar can be like New Helsinki or like New Geneva or like Dubai only if people think that it is a rich, safe and comfortable place. So the first thing is to make Ulaanbaatar "shiny". Focus on economics (may be world's main supplier of gold, copper or coal) and politics will follow.
